Combined Calendar

We now have a combined Google calendar that pulls from each community's calendar into one centralized calendar.  This feature will be a useful tool for tourists and residents alike.

Rush The Rails – Ride or Run: We are excited to be the starting point of the celebration of the opening of the Flint Hills Nature Trail!  On Saturday, October 7th, Osawatomie will be the starting point for a Full Distance Ride leaving at 7:00 am and Run Relay at 7:30 am. We are opening our beautiful John Brown Park (10th & Main St.) for those who would like to come and camp on Friday night, October 6th. Bring a tent or an RV. (All camping fees will be waived for this event.)  The Ride and Run will leave from Memorial Hall, 411 11th St., located in John Brown Park on Saturday morning. A sign in will be Saturday morning beginning at 5 am – 6:45 am for those running and biking. Breakfast will be available. Camping reservations can be made by calling Kyle at 913-755-2146 ext. 109 or by emailing him at kglaser@osawatomieks.org.  We plan to have a pasta feed on Friday night at Memorial Hall and are planning activities in the park for this event including music and a campfire. Click here for more information including other lodging and details.

Business of the Month - Loft on Sixth - Loft on Sixth is an event venue located in downtown Osawatomie. With over 15,000 square feet of event space, our staff can bring flair, elegance, creativity and best of all, exclusivity to each and every event. In 2001, Dean and Judy Spears (Spears, LLC) decided to purchase the building on the corner of Sixth and Main Street with the intent to lease the facility as retail space (lower section) and apartment units (upper section). After the purchase, Spears, LLC secured a 5-year lease with Sears for a retail outlet in the lower section of the building and refurbishing efforts began.
