Tri-Ko
Tri-Ko was established in 1974 to serve individuals with developmental disabilities in Miami, Linn, and Anderson counties. Currently, they serve 151 people. Tri-Ko is a 501 C-3 not-for-profit corporation. It is their mission "to promote opportunities for persons with disabilities and to support their choices in life." Some services offered include: group living, semi-independent living, in-home supports, case management, sheltered employment, and supported (community) employment.
Tri-Ko is a Community Service Provider (CSP) that assists persons with developmental disabilities to achieve meaningful levels of independence, inclusion, and productivity.
Their agency employs a strong community network and receives tremendous support from their many friends, including business leaders, charity organizations, and other community service providers. Tri-Ko currently has 119 individuals on staff.
In addition to a spacious and productive workshop, the facility boasts numerous other departments enabling them to support a wide variety of interests and needs, from vocational and wage earning assistance to self esteem, socialization, and life skills supports. The highly skilled and passionate staff are entirely committeed to the welfare, safety, and happiness of their valued clients.
Tri-Ko's annual 5K run/walk is coming up on April 23rd during Railroad Days. Please make plans to attend. Registration forms are available at Tri-Ko and the Chamber Office. They could use some volunteers to help out on race day- no previous experience needed! Call Susan Barrett at 755-3025 to volunteer.
