H&R Block
The H&R Block in Osawatomie is a locally staffed franchise office owned by Charles Parrish of Columbia, Missouri. Mr. Parrish purchased the Osawatomie location from James (Bud) Cameron, who had worked there preparing tax returns for several years prior to it being purchased by Mr. Parrish. Mr. Parrish also owns the locations in Paola, Louisburg, Baldwin, Ottawa, Spring Hill and Gardner as well as several in Missouri.
The manager for the branch here in Osawatomie is Marcia Mitchell. She has managed this location for the past seven years and has over 20 years of experience preparing tax returns! She is assisted by the help of her employees Sara Cornett, Jeff Spencer, DeEnna McQuay, Nancy Tyrrell, Diana McKoon, Julie Kirkland and Bridget Lewallen.
H&R Block prepares individual tax returns as well as estate, trust, partnership and corporate returns. Areas of specialty include preparation of farm returns and tax treatment of investment and retirement income. Kansas and Missouri returns are routine but returns for almost all the 43 states which have income tax, have been prepared by H&R Block at some time.
Osawatomie’s H&R Block office participates in several special pricing promotions throughout the year. Recently, these promotions have included the Refund Advance Loan and the Free Federal 1040 EZ forms (sorry, this promotion ended February 28th). They also offer discounts to the employees of Miami County, the City of Osawatomie and USD 367. A canned food donation offers a $5 discount with all contributions going to the Osawatomie Food Pantry.
Customer satisfaction is paramount to all their employees and a chance to provide customer feedback is offered to all clients who provide an email address. For each online customer survey completed, Mr. Parrish donates $1 to the Kansas Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) organization.
The Osawatomie office (from January until mid-April) currently opens at 9:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday with their closing hours varying during the week. After April 17th it is open weekly on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Feel free to stop in and say hello!
