Chamber Membership

The Osawatomie Chamber of Commerce has some great plans for growth and improvements. We are hoping that all of our local business or organization will join our collective and help with our mission to "Promote Growth and Prosperity in our Community".

What are the benefits of Chamber Membership?

Visibility & Promotion

Receiving referrals or endorsements from the Chamber, or other members businesses, can lead to a steady stream of loyal customers and growth for a business. In this digital age, online connections and promotions are critical to letting people know about a local business product or services.

  • Members are listed on the chamber’s website, including logos, contact info, and direct links to business websites and social media profiles.

  • Free advertising is provided for special events, fundraisers, discounts, promotional sales, and other activities. These can all be highlighted to a large local audience through the Chamber's newsletters, e-blasts or social media posts.

  • The Chamber provides welcome bags to new residents which include promotional materials from chamber members only (business cards, pamphlets, coupons, stickers, magnets, samples, etc.), so that new residents will know which businesses to visit for their needs in a new community.

Networking & Resources

Chamber membership provides access to people that are familiar with our local economy and demographics, and who have a wealth of knowledge and expertise, to help make informed decisions and navigate the challenges of running a successful business.

  • Chamber sponsored events such as meet-and-greet coffees, ribbon cuttings, business roundtables, awards ceremonies provide various opportunities to meet potential partners and customers.

  • One-on-one business consulting is available to members, as well as access to professional resource partners for topics such as marketing, financing, social media, business planning, grant applications, regulatory issues, and more.

  • Local workforce needs are supported and promoted. Free job postings for members may be included on the chamber website and in weekly newsletters.

Credibility & Recognition

Consumers believe that companies who are active in a local chamber of commerce use good business practices, are reputable, care about their customers, and are involved in the community. When engaged in Chamber initiatives and events, a business is perceived as one that prioritizes community impact alongside business success.

  • Members are provided with a custom window decal or wall plaque to display their commitment to the community in their business location.

  • Special public recognition is provided for Chamber event sponsors and there are special awards presented at the annual Chamber Dinner.

Representation & Advocacy

The Chamber acts as a voice for its members and provides local and regional representation for businesses when they interact with government or other civic organizations. We provides a collective voice for change, advocating for policies that benefit businesses and the community.

  • The Chamber Board of Directors is composed of representatives from local member businesses. They serve in a voluntary capacity and are committed to promoting growth and prosperity in our community.

  • The Chamber's Executive Director holds an ex-officio position on the Osawatomie Tourism Committee and works to support the City's four Signature Events and local efforts to increase tourism.

  • Miami County Economic Development works in collaboration with the four city Chambers in the county (Osawatomie, Paola, Louisburg and Spring Hill) to develop resources and workshops that will help start and grow local businesses.
